Course Overview

Synopsis

The Human Resource (HR) function has been evolving over the years with a gradual shift from mundane administrative responsibilities to developing HR programmes that not only solve business problems but also participate in achieving business objectives. The HR function has thus moved from secluded meeting rooms to the C-suite with the spotlight on Strategic Human Resource Management (HRM). IIM Calcutta’s EPSHRM while recapitulating participants’ knowledge of the HRM domain at an operational level, seeks to build on it to develop a strategic perspective.Creating sustainable value through people is of strategic importance for most organisations. Contemporary pressures such as globalisation, rapid changes in technology and social norms, and increasing emphasis on corporate social responsibility make it imperative to take a strategic perspective on HRM issues, beyond the traditional administrative way of managing people. Most employers now recognise employees as a source of sustainable competitive advantage. IIM C’s strategic human resource management aims to equip middle and top-level managers, both line managers and HR managers, with the knowledge and skills to make HRM decisions to build and sustain competitive advantage.

Eligibility

1. Educational Qualification

  • Graduation (10+2+3/10+2+4/10+2+2/11+1+3) from a recognised university (UGC/AICTE/DEC/AIU)
  • Candidates should have 50% or higher in graduation to be eligible. Marks for all (3 or 4) years to be included for calculating graduation percentage
  • Those candidates who have less than 50% marks in graduation but have more than 50% marks in post-graduation (from a recognised university) are also eligible for the programme.

2. Work Experience

  • Candidates should be working at the time of filling the application form
  • Candidates should have a minimum of seven (7) years of full-time paid experience at the time of application. This should be after the graduation degree/qualifying degree is complete

Certificate

  • Candidates will successfully complete the programme if they have met the attendance requirements and have received ‘Poor’ grade in not more than two modules.
  • Successful participants will receive a ‘Certificate of Successful Completion’ from IIM Calcutta.
  • Candidates with requisite attendance but unable to complete successfully will receive a ‘Certificate of Participation’.
  • It will be mandatory for participants to attend the campus module.
  • Successful participants will also be accorded IIM Calcutta Executive Education Alumni status.

^Off-Campus Stay
·        Candidates will have the option of making their stay arrangements during the campus modules.
·        They will be required to choose this option at the time of registering for the programme. No change will be allowed later.
·        The campus visit fee for participants staying off-campus during the campus modules will be ₹5000/day + GST. Total amount to be paid: ₹25,000 + GST.
Collection of Fee: Fee is collected in the name of BCCL (TPL).
